Abstract |
Eighteen goats were divided into 6 groups, each of 3 animals. The first group was vaccinated with peste des petits ruminants (PPR) vaccine and two weeks later with goat pox vaccine. The second group was vaccinated initially with goat pox vaccine and after two weeks with PPR vaccine. The 3rd group was vaccinated with goat pox and PPR vaccines c simultaneously. The fourth and fifth groups were vaccinated singly with goat pox vaccine and PPR vaccine respectively, while the sixth group was kept as non-vaccinated control group. The immune response to goat pox vaccine in vaccinated groups was not varied. Group III recorded the highest immune response to PPR vaccine. It could be concluded that simultaneous vaccination with PPR vaccine .It could be concluded that simultaneous vaccination with PPR and goat pox vaccines induced an immunostimulant effect to PPR vaccine. On the other hand alternative vaccination resulted in an adverse reaction to PPR vaccine. Such method of vaccination saves time, money and effort in vaccination programs.
