Abstract |
The Egyptian, Romanian and Kenyan strains of sheep pox virus (SPV) were propagated and titrated individually in VERO cell cultures and the tires weer 5.2 Log10 and 5 LOG10 TCID50/ml for these strains respectively. The viral proteins of these strains were estimated by using spectrophtometer and the values were 0.69 g/dI, 0.71 g/dI. the molecular weight (M.W) of such viral proteins were found to be ranged between 67 kDa and 17 kDa by using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). Using western blot, the major protein bands of M.W. 67 kDa, 32 kDa and 17 kDa were common between SPV strains while the protein band of 17 kDa was specific for Egyptian and Romanian SPV strains.
