| Abstract |
In this study ,immunity assays in guinea pigs depend mainly on brucella colony forming unit (CFU) in a gram of the spleen mass and on spleen weight/body weight ratio. At challenge with 5x106 viable organisms of virulent brucella abortus S-2308, the brucella vaccine prepared from field local brucella strain was slightly more active in guinea pigs than the killed brucella abortus rough strain 45/20 (S45/20 vaccine ). However , the live strain 19 vaccine (S19 vaccine) was markedly effective than the brucella killed vaccines it is suggested that killed vaccine from local field strain is suitable for vaccinating adultb cattle either pregnant or not.
