English : STABILITY OF SOME FLAX GENOTYPES ACROSS DIVERSE ENVIRONMENTS FOR YIELD AND QUALITY CHARACTERISTICS
Arabic : ثبات المحصول و الجودة لبعض التراكيب الوراثية من الكتان في بيئات مختلفة
Abstract 2000/2001 and Six Field experiments were conducted during 1999/2000 seasons to exploe the G X E effects and stability in performance of 14 flax genotypes genotypes for yield and quality characteristics . Environments and G x E were highly significant sources of variation for all traits. Four genotypes Sakha 1, Sakha 2 , Alba and Giza 7 may be recommended to in cluded be includld in flax breeding programes to increase staw yield by increase staw yield by increasing its components ( plant height and straw yield/plant). with respect to fiber yield and quality, data indicated that six genotypes (Giza 7, Alba, Jitka, Vaking, Istru and Daniela), may be classified as stable genotypes over all environments because they were consistently high yielding for fiber yield/plant. Out of them only three genotypes may by classified as stable consistently and of high fiber yield/plant fiber type variety ''Jitka'' showed highly stability for fiber percentage and fiber fineness. Regarding seed yild six genotypes (Giza 7 , Giza8 Vaiking Gentiana, Istru and S. 2465/1/3 ) may by recommended to be involved in flax breeding programes to increase seed yield, because these genotypes were superior for mean seed yield, yield components and stability parameters . Out of these genotypes, only three (Giza 7 , Gentiana and S. 2465/1/3 ) may be used to improve oil content in flax seeds .
