English : Detection of complement fixing and haemagglutinating inhibiting antibodies against Rift Valley Fever virus in sera of domestic animals in Qalyubia Governorate

Abstract In this study, complement fixation and then agglutination tests were inhibition performed on 900 animal sera . 1) The higher frequency of occurrence of antibodies was recorded in sheep sera (33.33%) , followed by cattle (22%) , buffaloe (14%) , camel (7.33%) , goat (6%) and lastly equine (5.33%) . the differences between these figures were statistically significavt. 2) the most affected area was generally , shebin El kanatter , where the percentage of RVF, CF antibodies was (28.46) followed by EL khanka (17.14) , mostorod (15.20) , tookh (13.57) , El khanka EL khairia (8.67) and lastly shoubra el khema (7.69) . these differences were found to be statistically significant. 3) the percentage of RVF , CF antibodies were (19) in adult animal sera and (7) in animals under 2 years of age and this difference was statistically significant .
