Arabic : دراسات عن الطفيليات المعوية التي تصيب بعض الطيور المائية بمحافظة بور سعيد 0
Abstract The present work aimed to evaluate the prevalence and description of enteric helminthes infecting aquatic birds collected from different localities in El-Manzala lake near Port Said Governorate , 112 coot ( Fulica atra atra ) , 67 moorhen ( Gallinula chloropus chloropus ) and 32 Teal ( Anas crecca crecca ). The total infection rate in the examined birds was 61.32 %. Eighteen species of helminthes (eight species of trematodes, six species of nematodes and four species of cestodes) were recovered. The prevalence of each species was determined in each bird species. The recovered flukes were Psilostomum brevicolle, Notocotylus sp., Paramonostomum sp., Psilocasmus aglyptorchis, Apatemon gracilis, and three unidentified Echinostome parasites. The detected nematodes were Amidostomum rallieti, Capillaria obsignata, Capillaria anatis, Heterakis gallinarum, Dispharynx nasuta and Cyrnea dollfusi, while cestodes were Diplopothe laevis, Sobolevicanthus gracillis, Monotestelepis spp. and Diorchis bulbodes. The recovered worms were described in details and discussed with relative species. A species of trematode ( Psilostomum brevicole ), three species of nematodes ( Heterakis gallinarum, Dispharynx nasuta , Cyrnea dollfusi ) , one species of cestode ( Monotestelepis sp. ) were recorded for the first time in this area of investigation
