| Abstract |
On surveying the enteric parasites of Clarias Lazera from Lake Manzala (brackish water) and EL- Kanater (fresh water) in hot and cold seasons, 7 parasites were detected including 3 digenetic trematodes, 1 cestode, 2 nematodes and a protozoan in a rate of 60.7 %. Clarias Lazera from the two locations shared the infestation with 4 parasites namely Orientocreadium batrachoides, Polyonchobothrium Clarias, Paracamallanus cyathopharynx and Procamallanus laeviconchus, while clarias Lazera from El-Kanater is considered as a new host for tow additional digenetic trematodes namely Telorhynchus arripidis and Podocotyle atomon. Clarias lazera from Lake Manzala harbored Cryptosporidium nasorum adding a new locality for such protozoan in Egypt. Rate of infestation and intensity of infection were high in El- Kanater than in lake Manzala and in hot season than cold one as well. These variations are good approval on the influence of the habitat on the parasitic fauna.
