Abstract A field experiment was conducted on sandy soil at Ismailia Agric. Res. Station during summer seasons of 2002 to study the effect of three resources of calcium in combination with organic and inorganic nitrogen sources on peanut yield (Giza, 5) and its contents of N, P, K, oil, protein and carbohydrates. The calcium resources were gypsum, phosphogypsum and calcium chelate, while those of nitrogen were organic compost and ammonium nitrate. The results reveal that the highest values of hay, pod, 100 seed weight and potassium uptake by both hay and seed were achieved by application of gypsum + compost. The highest values of N-uptake by hay and seeds could be obtained combined application of calcium as phosphor-gypsum + ammonium nitrate and calcium chelate + ammonium nitrate, respectively. The highest P-uptake was attained as a result of applied phosphor-gypsum + ammonium nitrate for both hay and seeds. Oil content as kg/fed and protein percent in peanut seeds were positively affected by the treatments of gypsum + compost and calcium chelate + ammonium nitrate, respectively. On the other hand, data showed negatively effect for all treatments on the values of carbohydrate as compared with the control treatment. This relative decrease in carbohydrate may be attributed to the relative increase of oil and protein contents in seed of this treatment. The highest value of agronomic efficiency was obtained for gypsum + compost
