Abstract |
Vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus, Glomus aggregatum and biogas manure were evaluated either individually or in combination for the control of root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita infecting tomato plants under greenhouse condition. Glomus aggregatum in combination with biogas manure gave maximum shoot and root dry weights and NPK uptakes. Nematode inoculation drastically reduced plant growth and nutrients uptake. In dually inoculated plants, however mycorrhizal colonization enhanced plant growth, nutrients uptake and decreased nematode galls, eggmasses and eggs as compared to nematode inoculation alone. Nematode counts were slightly affected by biogas manure application. Organic manuring improved growth of nematode infected and non-infected tomato plants. Meloidogyne incognita did not show any effect on Glomus aggregatum colonization rates
