Abstract |
The tripartite association of soybean plants. VAM fungi (Glomus aggregatum and Glomus spp.) and Bradyrhizobium japonicum was studied in a greenhouse ex-periment in an attempt to evaluate this association regarding of plant growth, dini-trogen fixation and nitrogen assimilation. Dually inoculated plants with VA-mycorrhizal fungi and B. japonicum supported the highest increases in mycorrhizal colonization rates, shoots dry weight, nitrogen and phosphorus contents of plant shoots, nitrogen fixing capacity, chlorophyll contents of soybean plants as well as nitrate reductase activity in comparison to singly or noninoculated plants. However, these stimulating effects were more pronounced in the presence of G. aggregatum than Glomus spp. Inoculation
