| Abstract |
The Main objective of this research is to study the reader farmers opinions about content and format of agricultural extension magazine (AEM); to know the relative importance of agricultural information sources ; to define AEM accessilbility for farmers ; to recogonize farmers communicative behaviour and to determine the most important variables that affect farmers exposure to AEM .
Data were collected from 300 farmers who were regularly reading AEMs in 6 governorates as follows:- Beheira , Monofia , Qalubia , Fayoum , Beni¬uief , Minia . Data collection were in July and August 2000 through personal interview by using a developed pretested questionaire . Frequencies , percentages , arithmetic mean , simple correlation coefficient and step- wise analysis were used to analyze the obtained data .
The most important results could be summarized as follows :
- Contact with extension agent , AEM , TV Agri. Programmes were the important agricultural imformation sources for the respondents .
- Half of respondents mentioned that AEMs were not regular to reach them .
-The Majority of respondents prefere strongly reading AEMs at the begining of both summer and winter agricultural seasons .
-About two fifths of repondents did not have preferable reading time on AEM by day.
-More than third of respondents prefer reading AEM at home .
-More than three fifths of respondents mentioned that the total of AEM content elements were perfectly convenient .
-Less than three fourths of respondents mentioned that the total of AEM format elements were perfectly convevient .
-It was found significant positive relationship between the convenience farmers degree of AEM content as a dependent variable and each of the following independent variables: number of reading motivations and
