Abstract |
This study aims to identify some characteristics of Tahrir family and rural house in a central village in one of the Egyptian reclaimed areas, and satisfaction among studied rural families about their houses.
This study was carried out in Al-Nasir village, North Tahrir- area. Data were collected from systematic random sample of 79 rural families representing 20% of the total number of rural families in the village.
Data were collected by a schedule through personal interview with studied family heads.
Tables, percentages, and frequencies were the techniques for showing the results.
The main findings of this study revealed the following:
1.Most of the studied families' heads are literate, their ages range from 55 to less than 65 years, and they have agricultural land tenures.
2.Percentage of illiteracy by most of the studied families equals zero, sex-ratio indicates that males are less than females, their family sizes are from 2 to 5 persons, and they are nuclear families.
3. Most of the studied family houses have witnessed horizontal expansion, it has 3 rooms, and degree of crowding is from 1.5 to less than 2.5 person/room.
4.Most of the studied families do not have satisfaction about their houses.
