English : Effect of soil amendments and inoculated pea seeds with rhizobium on the productivity of heavy clay soil
Arabic : تأثير بعض محسنات التربة وبذور البسلة الملقحة بالريزوبيوم والنامية فى أرض ثقيلة
Abstract A field experiment was conducted at Damas village, Mit Ghamer, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt, during winter season 2005/2006 to study the effect of some soil amendments such as FYM (at rates 0, 15 and 30m3/fed) and gypsum (at rates 0, 1 and 2 ton/fed) and inoculated pea seeds with Rhizobium leguminosarum on the productivity of heavy clay soil to pea plants, some physical, chemical and biological soil properties. The results showed that FYM fertilization, gypsum addition and Rhizobium inoculation significantly increased pea yield and its components. Similar trends were also observed for NPK, Ca concentration and protein content in pea seeds, also, nodulation and nitrogenase activity of root nodules. Also, data revealed that available contents of NPK as macro and Mn, Zn as microelements in soil after pea harvesting increased by FYM, gypsum addition and Rhizobium inoculation. It can be seen that R. inoculation did not clearly effect on soil pH, bulk density and total porosity of soil, but it was clearly effect for R. inoculation on biological activity represented by CO2 evolution from soil during agriculture season before and after irrigation. Also, there was clearly effect of FYM and gypsum addition on all previous soil properties. Application of 30m3 FYM fed-1+ 2ton gypsum fed-1 with inoculation gave the best results
