English : The role of series drama recorded on cassette tapes in shaping the knowledgeable and practice behavior of the Egyptian rural women related to balanced nutrition and reproductive health

Abstract The study aimed at: 1- Analyzing the content of the seven series Drama recorded on cassette tape related to balanced nutrition and reproductive health, subject and format category 2- Determining the differences between knowledge degrees of the experimental groups pre test-post test. 3- Studying the characteristics of the interviews. 4- Knowing their reactions towards the series Drama. The experimental study was carried out in three governorates, Souhag, Kalubia and Giza, where rural women gathered in rural development administrations, communication centers and family planning-on experimental group amounting to 120 intervieews, 40 rural women from each in the age of delivery, by interviewing them through May to June, 1998. A sheet was designed for analyzing subject and format category, checked and approved by the specialists. For presentation tables and analysis of data, T test, frequencies percentages and statistical criteria were utilized. The results of content analysis revealed that the time length of the seven series drama was 30 minutes distributed on the main subjects. The ratio of the category of balanced nutrition that needed for the human beings in general and the pregnant and breast feedings specially together reached 46.66 %. The ratio of the category of the natural breast feeding, the nutrition needed to the child after fourth month and in his disease reached 36.66 %. The category of reproductive health reached 10 %, and the way of presenting and reserving food reached 6.68 % The educational and religious objectives came at the first class with ratio 100%, then the entertainment with ratio 85.71% then economic and social objectives with ratio 14.28 % for each of them respectively . The results also revealed that the series begin with music and announcement, for the format category-utilizing the argument between not more than four actors in the dramatized series. Common language, caned music , sound effects and finally the closing announcement with ratio 100% for all series drama were utilized. 2- The experimental study revealed that there were significant differences between the two means of knowledge degrees of the experimental groups on 00] level for their knowledge degrees were increased after exposuring them to the drama about the balanced nutrition and reproductive health than before. 3- The characteristics of the experimental group show that one third of the sample, its marriage length reached from 5-10 years, 53.3 % from them had from 1-3 children, 80 % the number of their families from 3-6 persons, 66 7 % don't work, 36.7 % their husbands working in agriculture, 55 % of them their age between 31.-35 years, 81.4 % from them read, write and qualified, more than two third of them go to the city always and some times, half of them spent their free times in 4-5 fields, 92.6 % from them had more than 4 electric apparatus, and 59.1 % from them know the information from 3-4 resources. 4- The findings also revealed that the interviews denote that they prefer presenting information in series drama by ratio reached 95.9 %. 100 % of them admired the subject and format of the drama. 98.33 % see that recording series drama on tapes was excellent-media, 66.65% from them saw that the suitable length for dramatized story from 3.10 minutes, 99% of them wish to execute the points in the series. The subjects that the interviews needs to increase their knowledge about it and want to keep them in weather on cassette tapes or pamphlet as its importance for them was the nutrition needed to the child after the fourth month, with ratio 95.9% the nutrition needed to the sick child, 91.66 %. Some ideal diets and various balanced diets that needed for the health of all persons in the family with ratio 90.83% per each.
