English : Knowledge and performance level of female extension workers towards the extension activities related to rural women development

Abstract This study aimed to determine knowledge and performance level of female extension workers ( EWs) towards extension activities related to developing rural women, determine the difference between both of knowledge, performance degree and the difference in working areas, also identify the difference between knowledge :Hid performance degree of FEWs to these activities, determine the problems which obstruct their performance and their suggestions to overcome them, determine the relationship between both of knowledge, performance degree of FEWs and some of their social and characteristics. Data were collected by personal interview using a presented questionnaire from a random sample amounting to 107 FEWs in the four chosen governorates. Averages, T-test, Chi square, in addition lo frequencies and percentages were used to present and analyze data statistically. The results of this study revealed that : - Knowledge level of FEWs towards extension Activities related to developing was high in both the activities of rural home economics and social fields, but it was low in the activities of agricultural fields. - Performance level of was low in the activities of the three fields. - No statistically significant differences found between both of knowledge, performance degree, and the difference in working areas. - Statistically significant differences were found between time degree of knowledge performance of these activities. - The most important problems which obstruct their performance were lack of means of transportation, shortage in needs of aids, tools, and materials, lack of incentives insufficient specialized training in their mocking fields with rural stoma. I he It FEWs mentioned about 10 suggestions to imprint their performance of activities in the field of rural women development Planners should take in consideration such mentioned performance problems and suggestions for overcoming them. - Results also showed that there were significant relationship at (0.05 level between knowledge degree of FEWs and experience period in both agricultural work and extension work. - Significant relationship at 0,01 level between performance degree of FEWs and both of and experience period in extension work.
