English : Rural women's utilization of agricultural innovation concerning milk production and factors affecting it in Ohseem's villages of Giza governorate

Abstract The study aimed mainly to determine the Degree of rural women's utilization of Agricultural innovations Concerning milk production , to examine the relationship between the degree of utilization and some studied independent variables , to determine how does each one of the related independent variables participates in explaning rural women's utilization of Agricultural innovations Concerning the milk production . Also the study aimed to identify the problems and obstacles facing rural women interviewees who are raising milking cattles . Data were collected by personal interview from 150 random sample of fanners' wives who are responsible mainly for raising milking cattles. Pretested questionnaire was used during January and February 1995 for this purpose. The study was carried out in 8 villages of Ohseem district , the first one in producing milk in Giza Governorate . Data were analyzed by using simple correlation, step wise statistical method , averages slandered deviation, coefficient of variation in addition to tables, frequance and percentages . The study showed the following result : - The degree of utilizing innovations Concerning milk production of the majority of interviewees was either moderate or low . - There were significant positive relationship on the 0.01 level between the utilization degree and the following five independent variables : The degree of rural women' attitudes towards the utilization of innovations regarding milk production, the degree of satisfaction of cattles' milk production, the degree of cattles' milk economic return, the amount of milk produced from one animal per day , and the degree of leadership. - There were three independent variables affected significantly the degree of the utilization by (70.83%). These three variables were; the degree of women's attitudes which was responsible for (56.87 %) of these changes , the degree of leadership which was responsible for ( 9.99%) of these changes, and the degree of women's' satisfaction of cattles economic return which was responsible for ( 3.97%) of these changes in the dependent variable . - There were seventeen problems facing rural women interviewees in different degree with maximum reached to ( 63.33%) for the problem which was the shortage of concentrated fodder in summer season and a minimum reached to(1.33%)for each of the two problems : the shortage in control procedures upon the producers of fodder, and the high prices of Fertilizer needed for green fodder .
