Abstract The main objective of this research was to study some personal, economic and social variables affecing farmers attitudes towards agricultural extension in newly cultivated land. A questi¬onnaire was used to collect data for this research through personal interview. The sample represented 5% of the population (974 farmers) in the research area. Statistical means for analyzing data and presenting finfings included. Percentages, arithmatic mean, standard divination, simple correlation coefficient. Multiple regression and path analysis were also applied to investigate the direct and indirect effect. The major findings of the study can be summarized as follows' Multiple regression analysis and standardized multiple regaression coefficient revealed that five independent variables were signific¬antly related to the independent variable. Pathanalysis indicated that the following three varible had the most perminent effect: permenant living in the village. motiva¬tion to have a new land, exposing to training programs.
