English : Residues of esfenvolerate and flufenoxuron in cotton bolls and the relationship between pesticide dynamics and efficacy
Arabic : متبقيات مبيدات الإس فيفاليرات والفلوفونكسيرون في لوز القطن والعلاقة بين حركة المبيدات وكفاءتها
Abstract This investigation was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of some recommended compounds against the pink bollworm Pectinophora gossypiella (Sound) in addition to determining the distribution of esfenvolerate and flufenoxuron in different cotton boll parts on relation to efficacy. Fenpropathrin, esfenvolerate and lambda cyhalothrin gave the highest reduction of infestation followed by flufenoxuron and hexaflumworm mixed with chlorpyrifos and thiodicarb geyre a moderate reduction. The initial amounts of esfenvolerate were much more higher than that of flufenoxuron in all parts of cotton bolls. Also, the initial deposits of esfenvolerate and flufenoxuron in square epiderm were much more highest that that in the other cotton boll parts (793.1 and 348.2 ppb, resp.). The initial deposits of esfenvolerate in bracts and boll external were 184.2 and 268.3 ppb. Compared with 66.2 and 98.0 ppb. for flufenoxuron, resp. The residues in bracts, external and square epiderm decreased and reached 42.7, 7.8 and 101.4 ppb. for esfenvolerate and 7.8. 0.68 and 43.8 ppb. for flufenoxuron, resp. after 2week post treatment. This could be attributed to the pesticide movement to internal parts of cotton bolls. No esfenvolerate and flufenoxuron residues were detected in square wood, lint and seeds. The residues were gradually increased to 37.4, 45.3 and 12.3 ppb for esfenvolerate compared with 14.3, 6.38 and 0.6 ppb for flufenoxuron, resp. after3-days. esfenvolerate had higher potency due to the increase in dynamic mobility and slowly disappearance from boll parts than flufenoxuron, which had lower potency due to its low dynamic mobility and higher disappearance from boll parts at the short times.
