| Abstract |
This study aimed basically at identifying the relation-ship between farmers' degree of informal social partici¬pation as a dependant variable and 12 independent variables. Data was collected through personal interviews from a sample of 1CD-farmers selected randomly from Maryout new villages, at Alexandria Governorate.
Step-wise multiple regression revealed that only four independent variables namely, belonging to the community, contacts with responsible persons/authorities , level of leadership and agricultural income were found to have signi¬ficant and positive effects on the level of informal social participation. These previous independent variables explained 50.1% of t he variation in the level of participation.
