English : The acceptance of consumers to sweet sorghum syrup for industrial and consumption purposes in Alexandria governorate

Abstract This study aims mainly at : (1) Recognizing the acceptance of Sweet Sorghum Syrup consumers regarding its tasty, viscidity, colour and smell. (2) Recognizing the acceptance of consumers to some products of Sweet Sorghum Syrup such as Biscuit regarding its tasty, colour and smell. (3) Determining the differences between consumers' opinions in tasty, colour and smell of Sweet Sorghum Syrup and its industrial product (Biscuit). A systematic random sample of 200 respondents was selected in tour areas as follows : 70 respondents from Abees area, 30 respondents -from Borg El-Arab area, 80 respondents from Alexandria City, and 20 respondents from EL-Amria. Data were collected by personal interviews using a pretested questionnaire. Critical Ratio test was used to analyze the data statistically. 1. The main findings of this study could be concluded as follows: 1- The respondents mentioned that smell, colour, tasty, and viscidity of Sweet Sorghum Syrup was appropriate with percentages amounted 100%, 94%, 75%, and 62% respectively. 2. The respondents mentioned that smell, tasty, and colour of Sweet Sorghum Biscuit was very appropriate with percentages amounted 91.5%, 87.5%, and 50.5% respectively. 3. The respondents preferred Biscuit tasty and smell more than raw Syrup of Sweet Sorghum. Whereas the colour of Sweet Sorghum Syrup was more preferrable than Biscuit colour from respondents point of view.
