Abstract The study aims to identify the agricultural activities performed by new villages' agronomists, to assert their level of agricultural knowledge to determine their degree of job satisfaction, degree of satisfaction with Community Service, and to identify some of their characteristics which may affect this satisfaction. data were collected in Nubaria, region which is regarded as one of the most im¬portant pieces of settlement in Egypt, through personal interviews with all villages' agronomists who work in the study area. The study findings indicated low level of agricultural knowledge gained by the agronomists particularly in some fields such as medical plants, verterinary, soil survey and analysis* maintenance of irrigation equipment, agricultural machinery, and agricultural industries. This findings means that villages' agronomists are in bad need for training in these fields. As to job satisfaction, it was found that all studied variables here explained 47% of the variance in job satis¬faction. Significant and positive correlation relation - ships were found between job satisfaction and each of age, level of education, place of residence, rural-urban back-ground, monthly salary, duration of job service, and period of time spent in work in the new lands. It was found also that all studied variables had expla¬ined 29% of the variance of satisfaction with Community ser¬vices. Sigificant and positive correlation relationships were found between satisfaction with community services and each of the following variables: Place of residence and job satisfaction. Findings of the study have also shown that some of basic agricultural as well as non-agricultural ser¬vices which were necessary for the success of settlement processes are not available in the study area.
