Arabic : دراسة مقارنة بين درجات توطين فئة المنتفعين وفئة الخريجين بمنطقة بنجر السكر بالنوبارية
Abstract This study aims te develop a reliable and valid scale for measuring settlement in new land , make a comparison between set¬tlers and graduates in sugar beet area and identify the determi¬nants of successful settlement in this area. For realising these objectives a questionnaire was designed and filled through per¬sonal interviews. Data were collected from two systematic random samples ( 54 settlers and 55 graduates represent 5% from the total of each category ). "t" test and multiple correlation and regression (Step-Wise) were used to analyse the data. The results of the study revealed that the reliability coefficient (Cronbach) of the scale was 0.5281 and statistical validity coefficient was 0.8835. The settlers were more settled than graduates ( the aver-age of the first category was 215.3 while the average of the sec¬ond category was 183.3 ). Results also revealed that the most important determinants of settlement in the new land arranged in a decending order were : Geographic settlement, social success. economic success and agricultural success. These four dimensions explained together about 93 percent of settlement in the new land.
