| Abstract |
Twenty genotypes of sesame were grown in eight environments (four locations and two years) to evaluate phenotypic and genotypic stability for seed and oil yields/fed. Trials over locations reveled the presence of significance of pooled deviation for genotypes, and its interaction. Genotypes (Shandaweel 3 and M1 A48) were stable according to phenotypic and genotypic stability methods and had high mean performance in both seed and oil yield/fed. The phenotypic and genotypic correlation coefficients among seed and oil yields/fed. And its components were significant in most cases. The percentage contributed of yield components, considered herein, accounted for 60-80% of the total yield variability. Plant height, length of fruiting zone, number of capsules/pl. and height of capsules proved to be the most contributing factors, the sesame breeders have to consider in selection programs. UPGMA of clustering the 20 genotypes illustrated 2 clusters (99%). The sesame breeders can utilize UPGMA to study genetic similarity among different sesame lines.
