English : Genotypic stability analysis for yield and iys attributes of safflower (carthamus tinctorus L.) under different modern irrigation systems in new reclaimed lands
Arabic : تحليل الثبات لمحصول ومكوناته في القرطم تحت نظم ري مخلفة في الأراضي الحديثة الاستصلاح
Abstract Six internationally collected genotypes of safflower and one local check variety Giza1 were grown during 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 seasons at two different new reclaimed locations of El-Wadi El-Assiuty and New Valley using two irrigation systems Drip and Sprinkler to study the performance and genotypic stability of these genotypes for yield and its attributes. The results showed that the genotypes gave better performance and higher yield and its attributes under drip irrigation system than sprinkler irrigation. The highest values of all traits were obtained from line no.3 ( India) subjected to drip irrigation system under El-Wadi El-Assiuty, while, in the New Valley line no.2 ( Ethiopia) was superior in all studied traits under drip irrigation system. The combined analysis of variance revealed highly significant differences among environments, genotypes, and their interactions for all studied traits except the interaction of genotype x environment interaction for oil percentage. Stability analysis indicated that the genotypes distributed in wide range stability zones from perfect stability to unstable for seed yield/fed. Lines no.2 and 4 showed almost perfect stability (negative a and גּ = 1), while line no.1 located in average stability area and line no.3 was in bellow average stability. On the other hand, genotypes of Giza1, lines no.5 and 6 were the unstable genotypes. Moreover, the highest seed yield/fed was obtained from line no.3 which located below the average stability zone followed by Giza1 which was unstable .
