Abstract |
This work was carried out in middle Egypt, to study the themo-respiratory responses and certain blood biochemical constituents in Baladi cows during summer and winter seasons.
The following results were obtained:
There were significant seasonal variations in respiration rate. Body temperature and respirations rate were higher in summer than in winter. Results reveled that the increase ambient temperature during summer was associated with decreased in thyroid hormones (T3 and T4), glucose, total lipids, total protein, urea nitrogen, creatinine and blood plasma minerals when compared with the respective parameters observed during winter, however, transaminase enzymes (GOT and GPT) increased significantly during the summer.
Keywords: physiological parameters, baladi- biochemical, seasonal variations.
