English : Evaluation of some physiological and immunological parameters of some local strains of chicken.
Abstract The present study was conducted to evaluate some local strains of chicken for productive and physiological parameters and immune system capacity. A total of 400 One-day- old female chicks jrom four local strains of chicken, Dandarawi, Dokki. 4, Ealadi and Sina (100 female chicks of each) were used to estimate some productive, physiological and immunological parameters as indicator to productive performance. The chicks were reared on deep litter, under natural light and environmental temperature. The feed and water were provided ad. lib. (Free). The experiment (Study) was lasted for 6 months. The obtained results were as following 1. Sina strain female chicks has higher body weight and feed consumption at almost ages. 2. Serum cholestrol levels, serum LDL and serum HDL were higher in Dokki strain chicks at all ages, 3. Serum triglycpride and serum total lipids were higher in Baladi albumin, and serum chicks at all ages, 4. Sina strain chicks were higher in serum total protein, serum . albumin, and serum globulin, 5. With regard to immune response; we found that Baladi strain chicks give the best response against sheep red blood cells at early age ( 12 , 16 weeks ) 6. At late ages ( 20, 24 weeks ), Dokki strain present the higher response against SRBC. Keywords: chicken, physiology, immune, local strain.
