Abstract |
A total number of 300 Habard chicks (one day old) and 300 Hyline hens (11 weeks of age) were randomly assigned to three treatments each. The first treatment has served as control and the second was exposed to ammonium hydroxid spray to reach 50 ppm ammonium and the third was reach 100ppm ammonia. Each treatment for each strain of chicks was represented in four replicates. Results obtained can be summarized in the following:
- Broilers chicks:- Feed consumption was significantly lower at 6,7 week of age for 100ppm level also the weight gain was significant of same group, where feed conversion for this group was significant at 6 week of age.
- Laying chicks:- Feed consumption was significantly lower for 100 ppm at 22, 26 week of age, while highly significantly decreased at 30 and 34 week of age, 50 ppm groups were not affect at all ages of experiment compared to the control group. Gain in weight was significantly decreased in 100 ppm level at 18 week of age, while there were no significant effect at other ages. Egg production in 100 ppm level was affecting at other ages. 50 ppm level was affect significantly at 22 week of age but, not significant at other ages. There were not significant effect of level of ammonia on egg weight, egg mass and feed conversion. Level of ammonial effect significantly an age at 30.50 and 75% of production also, number of egg for hen at 322 day of age.
This study suggested the level of ammonia in laying house most be lower than 50 ppm.
