Abstract |
The present study was designed to evaluate the dried rabbit dropping (DRD) as non-classical feed ingredient. It was added with different levels to study its effect on productive performance, feed intake, feed conversion, digestibility coefficient of nutrients, carcass characteristics and economical efficiency.
Feeding trials were successively carried out to replace (DRD) in raw form and/or after different processing as a percentage of common farm ration.
Experiment 1:
Sun-dried raw dropping for five days was chemically included proximate analysis. Then it was added to the farm diet at 100, 200 and 300 g/kg pellets, the results obtained indicated that the dropping had 16% CP, 11.2% ash and 2 % EE. Statistical 26% CF, analysis showed that, there was significant decrease in all values parameters used, digestibility coefficients on the other hand, feed conversion and mortality rate were increased with increasing the dropping. There were significant differences in carcass characteristics. Diet with no dropping was the best economic efficiency.
Experiment 2:-
The dropping was treated with different methods as:-
a- soaking with ( NaOH 3%).
b- Autoclaving at 120c for 45 min.
c- Addition of anti-Biotic.
The results obtained seem to justify the following conclusion. The chemical composition the of had effect on the treatments dropping, where CP, CF, and EE. Contents were decreased with both alkali and autoclave treatments. Performance of the rabbits was affected by different treatments, alkali, autoclaving and addition of antibiotic. There were no-significant differences in feed consumption, but feed conversion, and digestibility coefficients of (CP, CF, EE) were decreased with increasing levels of rabbit dropping. There were significant differences in carcass characteristics and total number of caucus protozoa. Regarding feed costs/kg L.W., it was concluded that the diet containing no rabbit dropping, diet treated with 20% antibiotic, and diet with 10% (NaOH) were economically compared with the other treatments, Mortality rate was not affected contrary to that obtained in the first experiment.
