Abstract This study was carried out in the animal house of the By-Products Utilization Department at A.P.R.I. Egypt to compare the effect of feeding bagasse, rice straw, and wheat straw untreated or biologically (treated with fungus trichoderma reesei) under different levels 5,10,15% of untreated or treated roughages, on the performance of growing rabbits .A feeding trial of 8 weeks was carried out with 171 male of New Zealand rabbits divided into 18 groups and one group for control to compare the results. The animals were randomly distributed, nine animals under any level of any roughages. Diets were fed ad- lib, and the results were as follows :Groups fed the biologically treated roughages showed higher daily body weight gain, feed utilization, feed digestibility and high economic efficiency than untreated. Treated rice straw was better than treated bagasse or treated wheat straw. It can be concluded that, biological treatments improve protein and increase the nutritive value of roughages. Key words: Rabbit- roughages - rice straw - wheat straw - bagass fungi
