English : The relative importance of extension methods for rural women in raising efficiency of food production

Abstract The study aim: I) determining the relative importance extension methods prefered by the rural woman. 2) Determining the differences between the respondents related to their preference for the extension methods. 3) Studying the effect of some variables on their preference for the extension methods. To achieve these objectives, 13 Villages were selected in 8 Governorates in Egypt. The sample size amounted to (2700) respondents rural women. Data were collected through a personal interviews using a pretested questionnaire. Friedman formule was used or data analysis. The results of this study revealed that: I- The three types of the extension methods used in the study could be arranged on the following lay out due to the prefer¬ence of the respondents in all the studied village! Except in Kalama in Kalubia and Kafr el-Moselha in Monoutia, the semidirect effect methods, the direct effect methods, and finally the indirect effect ones. 2- In Kalama in Kalubia governorate the respondents prefered the direct extension methods more than the semi-direct ones, while Kafr-el-moselha in Monofia, they prefered the indirect methods more than the direct effect ones. 3- Significant differences were found between the age, and the size of their family agricultural holding.
