Effect of heat exposure and feed restriction as bio-stimulation methods for enhancing rabbit productivity.

Abstract |
This work was carried out in animal production research institute and faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University. This work divided into two experiments:
Experiment I
49 pregnant rabbit does (NZW) were divided into three groups as following, control (C), the does were feed restricted diet (125 g diet) for 4 days, and does exposed to high ambient temperature (34°C) for 6 h (HE) m RNA Heat shock protein (HSP 70 and 90) in fetus, fetus and placenta weight, physiological responses and doe performance in pregnant rabbit The mains results: m RNA HSP70 was detected in C and HE groups while disappeared in FR group. Rectal temperature was significantly higher during heat exposure than that before. Hematocrit and hemoglobin significantly decreased during FR and HE and continued to significantly decrease after 3 days of feed restriction.
Corticosterone level was significantly decreased during feed restriction than that before, while it significantly increased during heat exposure than that before.
Experiment II
226 rabbit kits divided into four groups; control, kits were born from does exposed to feed restriction (MFR), kits were born from does exposed to heat stress (34°C) for 6 hrs (MHE), kits (at age 5 day) exposed to heat stress (34°C) for 6 (NHE).In weaning and growing stages, m RAN of Heat Shock Protein (HSP 70 and 90) in jejunum and leukocytes, physiological responses, intestinal measurements and productive performance of kits as affected by MFR, MHE and NHE treatments were studied.
The mains results: m RNA HSP 70 in jejunum was higher in bio-stimulation methods (MFR, MHE and NHE) groups than control group. M RNA HSP 70 in leukocytes disappeared in MFR group, while, it detected in control and other groups.
Pre and post weaning mortality % in MFR, MHE and NHE were decreased by about 17.6,14.6 and 17.1% than control group, respectively. Growth rate (GR %) of bio-stimulation groups (MFR, MHE and NHE) were increased than that in control group.
