English : Fuzzy Logic For Prediction Soil Resistance Based on Physical properties
Arabic : المنطق المشوش للتنبؤ بمقاومة اختراق التربة بدلالة الخواص الطبيعية.
Abstract The aim of the present paper is to develop an alternative approach to conventional models for soil penetration resistance predicting. A fuzzy logic based method has been developed here to study the impact of physical soil properties such as specific weight, moisture content and soil texture as clay ratio on the soil penetration resistance. The developed model bases on getting data from literatures, which are actual field measurements. About 278 data points were used and randomized, then divided to 258 data points for training the developed model and 20 data points for testing purposes. The fuzzy inference system (FIS) was Sugeno fuzzy model. The results showed that the fuzzy model is successfully implemented when compared to observation data that gave R2 value of 0.96, compared with 0.82 obtained by equation, developed using statistical method. To verify the feasibility of the proposed model, a set of data was collected from another literatures and prediction accuracy was performed using root mean square error and its value was 0.55 MPa.
