English : Effect of Forward Speed, Plowing Depth and Inflation Pressure on Tractor Performance during Tillage I: In Clay Loam Soil
Arabic : تأثير السرعة الأمامية ، عمق الحرث وضغط الهواء فى أداء الجرار أثناء الحرث.
Abstract This research work investigated the effect of forward speed, plowing depth and inflation pressure on tractor performance during tillage in clay loam soil. Rear mounted chisel plow was used to perform the tillage with three forward speeds ranged from 2.6 to 4.9 km/h, three plowing depths (10, 15, 20 cm) and three inflation pressure (98, 108, 118 kPa). The results showed that forward speed, plowing depth, inflation pressure and their interactions have significant effect on implement draft. Multiple regression was performed to obtain equation predicting implement draft as a function of forward speed, plowing depth and inflation pressure. The coefficient of determination, R2, found to be 0.952. Dynamic traction ratio and tractive efficiency were taken as parameters to represent tractor performance. Non-linear regression was performed to obtain equation predicting both dynamic traction ratio (DTR) and tractive efficiency (TE) from experimental data at three inflation pressures as follows: Where S is rear wheel slip in decimal and the coefficients of determination, R2, were 0.94 and 0.705 at inflation pressure 118 kPa for dynamic traction ratio and tractive efficiency respectively.
