Abstract |
Five levls of constant forward speed were selected for plowing by using chisel plow. Each level was applied by four different combinations of gear number and throttle position, to maintain the same speed level constant. In other words, the gear-up throttle-down " GUTD" technique was applied four times for five levels of speed. Twenty operating points were obtained for the tractor engine. Each individual point is evaluated with respect to its fuel consumption rate, drawbar power requirements, produced axle power, and tractive efficiency. This is to judge the validation of each operating point against the required field job. Besides regression analysis was carried out to develop three useful statistical relationships to estimate the implement draft, the tractor tractive efficiency, and rear wheels slip.
