Abstract The effect of 3 shedules for production of tetanus antitoxic serum in horses was investigated, firstly the animals were given foundation of immunity by injections of adsorbed tetanus toxoid subcutaneously. The following injection schedules were used:(a) 5 injections at 3 days interval(b) 4 injections at 7 days interval (c) 3 injections at 2 weeks interval. BLOOD SAMPLES WERE TAKEN AT 7,10 DAYS AT 2,3,4 weeks afetr last injection for estimation of antibody titres. Then each group of horses later on were injected subcutaneously with tetanus toxin, in increasing doses schedule (a) 5 injections each 3 days (b) 4 injections each 7 days (c) 3 injections each 2 weeks. Blood samples were taken for the following 8 weeks and serum samples were collected and the titres of antibodies were recorded . The tendency to higher antibody level was observed in schedule (a) afetr7,10 days to 2 weeks afetr last injection of both tetanus toxin and toxoid, while no significant difference in antibody titres was seen within 2 weeks in both schedule (a) and (b) and teh antibody level in the following weeks run nearly parallel to each other. Schedule (c) proved to be the least one in the antibody titres in comapartive with schedule (a) and (b) and can not be used for rapid and higher antibody level for production of antitetanic serum
