Abstract |
This Research work investigated the effect of Plowing forward speed and depth on dynamic traction ratio for front wheel assist tractor (FWA) operating in sandy loam soil. Rear mounted chisel plow was used with four forward speeds and three plowing depths. The results showed that both forward speed and plowing depth have significant effect on dynamic traction ratio. Multiple regression analysis was performed to obtain equation predicting dynamic traction ratio from forward speed and plowing depth. The coefficient of determination, R2, was 0.9927. The results also showed that dynamic traction ratio was increased by increasing both forward speed and plowing depth. Its minimum value was 0.16 corresponding to four forward speeds at depth 7 cm. The maximum value was 0.47 corresponding to four forward speeds at depth 14 cm.
