Abstract A study of honey bee infestion by varroa iacbsoni was carried out in six governorates in Egypt (dakahlia, sharkia, demiatta, kafr el-sheikh, gharbia and menia). In each governirate, the study was applied in four different apiaries all over two successful years 1993-1994, and the results could be summarized as follows: 1. the infestation rate with the parasite was very low in spring in comparion with thet occurred in autumm. 2. the infestation rate began to increase starting from the beginning of summer till the end of autumm. 3. immediately after treatment, the infestation began to decrease during October. 4. the infestation rate of kafr el-sheikh governorate was the lowest in comparison with the other governorates. 5. the inrestation rate of sharkia governorate was the highest in comparison with the other governorates.
