| Abstract |
This research aimed to determine rural women application level of the technical recommendation in the field of strawberry crop handling, identify the information sources of the respondents in the studied area,, in addition to identifying the extension services they need, as well as identify the the obstacles they face in this field, and their suggestions to overcome them.
This research was conducted on 270 respondents who were selected randomly and systematically of farmer's wives participating mainly in strawberry crop handling. Morgan and Krejcie equation had been used to determine the sample size, Data were collected by using a questionnaire during auguest 2018, frequencies, percentages, mean, range, standard deviation were used to present and analysis study data.
The main results are as follows:
1- Half of respondents 55.6% located in the category of medium degree of application of the recommendations regarding the strawberry crop handling.
2- The most important sources of information were: personal experience, husband and director agricultural associations.
3-The most important services were: Providing a marketing network by the Ministry of Agriculture away, availability of information for marketing and prices in agricultural associations, conducting seminars to sensitize rural women about right practices to collect and packing strawberry crop
4- The most important constranties facing the respondents in the field were: higher wages for skilled workers and lack of them numbers, high cost of transportation to major markets, exporters control in market prices.
5-Respondents introduced some suggestion to overcome the mentioned obstacles through: availability of marketing by the Ministry of Agriculture, availability of packaging in good prices, facilitating loans for disbursement of the crop.
