Abstract The research aimed at identifying the most important sources of information about irrigation development, the most important problems that hinder the development of irrigation from the point of view of the respondents and the most important suggestions for solving them. The research was conducted in governorates of Kafr El-Sheikh, Beheira, Assiut and Qena, and the respondents were all agricultural extension workers in improvement of irrigation in it. Data were collected during January and February 2017, and data were analyzed using means and range in addition to frequencies and percentages as well as tabulation. The main results were: 1 - The most important sources of information for the respondents in irrigation improvement The following: the Agricultural Extension device, the heads of the work, and the Agricultural Research Center. 2 - The most important problems that hinder the improvement of irrigation from the point of view of the respondents the following: Throwing waste in the water channels, costs high of lining the water channels, The excessive in use of irrigation water, non- awareness farmers with water laws and legislation, incentives shortage for agricultural extension workers, farmers fear of Pricing of irrigation water, and financial capacity shortage of farmers.
