Abstract _______________________________________________________________________________________________ • Ph. D. in Agricultural Science (Agricultural Economics), Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, 2010. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ The study aims at achieve some objectives such as; identifying the institutional relationships between the field crops and the patterns of their production, the suitability between the changes in the cultivated areas for these crops and the main objectives of the agricultural policies ; especially the equilibrium between the contradiction benefits of the small producers and the consumers, moreover how to raise the use efficiency of the agricultural resources. The study included four chapters in addition to the introduction and summary and appendix, the first chapter deals with the review and literature in the first section. The theoretical frame of the used analytical techniques and models in the second section. The second chapter review the current situation for Some field crops . The third chapter the main affected factors for the cultivated areas of wheat were; the changes in the farm gate price of wheat, faba beans, lentils, besides the production costs of parley, sugar beat, and finally the net average of linseed revenue with one year time-lag. The function showed that about 96% of the changes in the cultivated area of wheat refer to the said mentioned factors. The statistical significance was proved (F= 77.39). As regard to summer maize, the main affected factors for the cultivated areas were; the changes in the farm gate price of summer maize, cotton, Soya beans with one year time-lag. The function showed that about 72% of the changes in the cultivated area of wheat refer to the said mentioned factors. The statistical significance was proved (F= 18.37). Concerning to cotton, the main affected factors for the cultivated areas were; the changes in the farm gate price of cotton, cotton, sugar cane, groundnuts, besides the change in the production costs of sorghum and the net average sesame revenue with one year time-lag with one year time-lag. The function showed that about 84% of the changes in the cultivated area of cotton refer to the said mentioned factors. The statistical significance was proved (F= 20.27). _______________________________________________________________________________________________
