The efficient use of agricultural inputs is considered to be one of the major objects in the agricultural economic studies. So the study aims at recognizing the situation of the Egyptian farmers in agricultural using their agricultural resources. in other words ,are the agricultural inputs efficiently used economically and technically ?to set the answer of this question , the study deals with the production of some strategic crops such as wheat, corn ,cotton and potatoes.
The study depended on two types of data, primary and secondary data .the primary data were collected from a sample drawn from menof district in Menofiya governorate. the secondary data were collected from different publication prepared with ministry of agriculture .the study contains four sections, the first one deal with review literature of many studies and researches related to the object of the study . These studies and researches were classified into three groups, the first one for seeds, the second for chemical fertilizer and the third group for pesticide. The second section of the study takes place the economic reform policies on the production costs of some important crops that mentioned before (wheat, corn, cotton and potatoes) using the monetary and real prices. The analysis of costs and revenues of these crops reveled an important results, which the cost and net revenue did not affected by approaching the policy of economic liberalization .the third chapter related with the sample location , and the sampling technique. Also this chapter takes place the analysis of costs and revenues of sample crops in Menofiya governorate some economic indicators such as net revenue per feddan were computed, which estimated nearly 1657,891,1603and1657 Egyptian pounds for wheat, corn, cotton and potatoes respectively . The ratio between the total revenue and total costs for the sample crops were computed also they were about 157%, 160%, 176%, and 157%for the same crops respectively. The fourth chapter deals with the economic analysis of the production and cost functions of the sample crops. The production elasticites, marginal productivities and the return to scale were estimated Also the economic efficiency of the four crops were estimated using the estimated cost and revenue functions.
