The study dealt with the economic importance of the seed component for the most important cereal crops in Egypt, as it is one of the most important production factors, studying the costs of producing the seed seeds under study, in addition to studying the production and marketing efficiency of the offered quantities of seeds. The study concluded that the economic importance of the seed component is to grow all seeds. It was classified in the suitable areas for its cultivation, where a class-based map of the seeds of the crops under study was made through the technical recommendations and the cultivation of each variety in the areas that contribute to raising the feddan productivity, and one of the most important results of the study was that making the class map of the wheat crop during the study period (2004-2009 This led to a reduction in imports by about 0.93 million tons, valued at about 12.6 billion pounds, thus reducing the deficit in the agricultural trade balance by 0.18% in the 2009 season, and the class map of the rice crop contributed to an increase in exports by about 1.35 million tons, with an estimated value of about 1.72 One billion pounds, in a way that reduces the deficit in the agricultural trade balance by about 0.07% in the 2009 season. The class map of the maize crop has led to a reduction in imports by about 3.4 million ardebs, the value of which is estimated at about 0.07%. About 6.24 billion pounds, which reduces the deficit in the agricultural trade balance by 0.09% in the 2009 season.
The indicators of economic efficiency of the central administration stations producing wheat seeds in Egypt also indicated that the average total revenue / costs amounted to about 1.56, while the net return amounted to 6.12 billion pounds, while the profit of the invested pound was about 0.5. The indicators of economic efficiency of the central administration stations producing rice seeds in Egypt also showed that the average total revenue / costs amounted to about 1.37, while the net return was 11.29 billion pounds, while the profit of the invested pound was about 0.4. The indicators of the economic efficiency of the central administration stations and the private sector stations producing maize seeds in Egypt showed that the average total revenue / costs amounted to about 1.2 for the government, 1.5 for the private sector, while the profit of the invested pound was about 0.2 for the government and 0.5 for the private sector, and by studying the marketing efficiency of seed crops. The study showed that it amounted to about 61% of the wheat yield, and the estimation of the demand function for wheat seed adopted during the study period in the multi-regression method showed that the price of a ton of approved seeds is the largest factor affecting the distributed quantities of seeds with an elasticity factor of -0.3 and this is consistent with the logic. The economic. The marketing efficiency of the seeds for the rice crop was about 63%, and the estimation of the demand function for the adopted rice seeds during the study period using the multiple regression method showed that the price of a ton of approved seeds and the price of the crop for a slow year are among the strongest factors affecting the distributed quantities of seeds.
The marketing efficiency of maize seed was about 29%. The estimation of the demand function for the seed of maize seed adopted during the study period in the method of multiple regression showed that the cultivated area is one of the strongest factors affecting the distributed quantities of seeds.
