The study aims to identify the production efficiency of the Badara fattening industry, then study the most important factors affecting the production and consumption of poultry meat, and an analysis of the most important factors affecting production costs, with exposure to some of the problems that hinder this industry, and the study was based on two aspects, the first of which is: It is derived from the field study data on a random sample of fattening poultry farms in Ismailia Governorate. The second aspect: It is based on published and unpublished statistical data in the records of various governmental institutions and agencies.
It was found from the study that Egypt suffers from a nutritional gap in total meat, which is developing rapidly and significantly, and by estimating the food gap of white meat, it has been shown to increase from 25,000 tons in 1982/1983 to 46,000 tons in 1987/86, due to the continuous increase in the population at an annual rate. The study showed that the value of the food gap for poultry increased from 36 million dollars in 1982/81 to about 66 million dollars in 1987/86.
The study revealed that the total consumption of poultry meat has increased in the last five years by 49.6, but it is still lower than the average for developed countries.
The thesis discussed production and yield in poultry fattening farms, as the study dealt with the most important factors affecting the local production of broiler chickens, which are chickens, concentrated feed, medicines, human labor, heating, lighting, and bedding in addition to fixed facilities. The study also dealt with the total production costs of poultry fattening farms in Ismailia Governorate. And it was noticed that the production cost per live kilogram was about 1,248, 1,483, 1,255, 1, 22, and 1, 26 pounds, for the average sample and variable productions sizes.
The seasonal effect on changes in total costs has been studied, and it has been found that the total costs of broiler production are exposed to many factors that lead to fluctuations in it during the different seasons.
By studying the seasonal pattern in net revenue, it was found that there are clear fluctuations in the average net revenue, and by studying the economic implications of the simple regression function parameters of the supply response from broiler chickens with respect to net income, the lack of significance of the relationship becomes evident, which makes net farm revenue a factor affecting the expected supply of chickens Fattening in Ismailia Governorate.
