| Abstract |
This study aims to determine: the respondent's utilization degree of some farm residuals such as animal feeds in El-Minufiya Governorate, and its relationship with some independent variables of the respondents, also the sources Providing respondents with information about the farm residuals, the activities of agricultural extension agents in the scop of utilizing the farm residuals such as animal feeds, and the problems facing respondents in utilizing the farm residuals such as animal feeds in El- Minufiya Governorate.
A random sample of 375 respondents were chosen from the nine districts in El- Minufiya Governorate_ Data was collected by interviewing respondents using a pretested questionnaire. It was statistically manipulated and analyzed using tables, percentage, Cronbach, Intrinsic validity, and simple correlation coefficient, the resalts revealed that:
The respondent's utilization degree of the studied farm residuals were high.
The most utilized method from the respondents were using some of the green farm residuals in the form of silage, and the least utilized were treating the farm residuals with ammonia.
A positive correlation existed between the respondent's utilization degree of some farm residuals such as animal feeds and the following independent variables: the degree of satisfaction of utilizing the farm residuals such as animal feeds , the know of the number of the recommended methods to treat with farm residuals for producing animal feeds, size of farm land, size of livestock, size of land in green feeds, the degree of attitudes towards recycling of farm residuals. and the degree of readiness for risk.
The main sources of respondent's information about utilization of some farm residuals such as animal feeds in Ei-Minufiya governorate were: personal experience (73.06%), neighbours (57.60%), and veterinarian (55.20%).
A shortage of the extension activities by the agricultural extension agents in the scop of utilization the farm residuals such as animal feeds in El-Minufiya Governorate.
Five problems were found facing the respondents in their utilization the farm residuals such as animal feeds in El-Minufia Governorate, these were in descending order : high prices of Almofeed, unavailability of balers to baling the fam residuals, high prices of ammonia, unavailability of feeders liquid (Almofeed), and unavailability of enough information about some methods of utilization the farm residuals such as animal feeds.
The study provided nine indicators that could be used, in extension program planning to utilization the farm residuals such as animal feeds in El-Minufiya Governorate.
