| Abstract |
The main objective of this study was to explore the vision of extension experts about the future extension service in Toshka Project, claryfmg priorities of the agricultural extension work. The study lies upon some concepts like context evaluation, spiral model of planning, and 4H Club. Data were obtained by a combination of methods such as electronic mail, individual and group meeting, experts' consultation, study of successful systems and personal interviews using questionairc. The most important results were:
Half of the respondents found. that the economical importance of the project is tow and moderate, which means that the mass-media could not make people aware of its potential possibilities.
Twenty eight percent of the respondents mentioned that research, education and extension services should be represented in a unit on every village level as a mecanism of institutional link among them.
More than three quarters of the respondents chose communicational and specific agricultural skills as desired skills of the future extention agent; whearees only 59% of them chose the educational skill, in spite of its importance in developing knowledge, skills and attitudes. Almost 2third and 3 quarters of them ignore manaigcrial and computer skills.
- More than two third of respondents' womed from transporting and applying the ancient vally experiences, Almost half of them suggested mutual recognizing of roles and convinsing of integration importance between extension and research for empowering the link between them.
- Almost 52% of the respondents' mentiond the necessity of avoiding training programs that don,t reveal work and trainees needs.
- The study contained new roles for each of extension, training, research and mass-media services such as developing the regional aweamess about the necessity of Toshka Project, training on electronic communication, permit suitable circumstanses for adopting the electronical government, developing specifice skills for young generation to assure having metiers that can make them settled in the area, encouraging the productive behaviour and incremental performance.
The study included a suggested extensional organization for the project depending on some successful agricultural organizations across the worled and the results of the Andy.
