English : Education as a value to the members of an agricultural cooperative at north Tahrir region- determinants and consequences.
Arabic : التعليم كقيمة لدى أعضاء إحدى الجمعيات التعاونية الزراعية بمنطقة شمال التحرير – المحددات والنتائج.
Abstract This study aims mainly at building as well as testing a causal model to infer variance at the variable of education as a value at the respondent reference of values. The pivotal rote of education is discussed as it is affected by other variables as well as it affects other variables when it is considered as independent variable. This entails ranking respondents according to their perception of education as a value. A random sample of agricultural cooperative members that amounts to 110 respondents is selected to represent 25% of the population. A questionnaire is administered. Path analysis technique is used to get causal model. The main findings indicate the existence of a positive significant path coefficient for two independent variables, namely, the respondent educational and the employment status of the respondent's sons, and daughters (at p 0.01), another two positive significant path coefficient at p 0.05 for two variable, namely, respondent 'exposure to mass-media and cosmopolitanism. Based on these findings, the four independent variables are determinants of the respondent value of education. An entry of seven variables interprets 41.2% of the total variance at the respondent's value of education. The seven effective variables including the four mentioned variables in addition to the respondent age, and his family income and size. All effects are direct. Being an independent variable education as a value enjoys significant path's at p 0.05 with four dependent variables, two of them namely the respondent wife and sons educational levels as well as the educational level of the respondent wife and daughters enjoy a positive paths whereas the other two variables namely literacy and school dropping degree enjoy a negative paths. The last four variables represent some residues effect of education as 42.74% of the respondents appreciate highly education as a religious economic and social value.
