Biochemical studies on the effect of fibers content in diabetic foods on absorbtion of some minerals (111)effect of wheat dietary fibers on histopathological changes in sterptozotocin (stz)diabetic rats

| Abstract |
Eight groups of rats which represent eight treatments were fed on diets contain: (1) wheat flour 76 % ext (2) wheat flour 82 % ext., (3) wheat flour 82 % ext. +10 % wheat bran,(4) wheat flour 82% ext. +20 %wheat bran,(5) whole meal,(6) white shorts,(7) diabetic control and (8) normal control (healthy rats). Groups 4,5 and 6 which received diets contain wheat flour 82%. ext. + 20% wheat bran, whole meal and white shorts showed the best histo- pathological findings of rats liver where the examined cases showed moderate clear enlarged and vacuolated cells with moderate hyperchromatic nuclei. Dietary fibers have an effective effect in reducing glycemic response.
