English : Some family decisions of graduates and small farmers in some new areas in Egypt.
Arabic : بعض القرارات الأسرية لدى فنتى الخريجين وصغار المزارعين ببعض المناطق الجديدة بجمهورية مصر العربية.
Abstract The Study aims at identifying the opinions of both graduates and small farmers regarding decision existence, decision maker, decision methods, and decision stability for the following family decisions: movement to another place for settlement, use farm wastes to make compost , and crops marketing. The study was carried out in 25 selected Villages, in seven governorates which were Beheira, Kafr EL Shikh, Fayoum, Beni Swaif, Menia, Assiut, and Sohag. A Stratified random Sample of 779 respondents (483 graduates and 296 small farmers ) was chosen. Date were analyzed using chi –squire test, frequencies and percentages. The study revealed the following results: 1 - About two thirds of the total number of respondents 66% mentioned that movement to another place for settlement is a common decision, and they took such decision with consultation with family member 56.8%, and this decision needs a lot of thinking and discussion 55.8% . The decision stability is 55.4% . There were no significant difference between both graduates and small farmers regarding the existing and the decision methods while there were significant differences between the two groups concerning the decision maker and the decision stability. 2- About 40.8.7% of the total number of respondents showed their willing to make the decision of benefit from farm wastes to produce composts, and they take this decision without any consultation with others with percentage of 46.3%. Also 56% of the total respondents showed that they took this decision after a slight discussion, while 77.4% of respondents mentioned that they would be stable when taking such decision in future, There were significant differences between graduates and small farmers regarding the existing while there were no significant difference between graduates and small farmers regarding the decision maker, the decision methods and the decision stability. 3 - Concerning the decision of crops marketing 57,1% of the total number of respondents revealed that this decision is existed and individually taken by householder with percentage of 42.5%, Most of respondents showed that they took this decision in a commune way, and 69.2% mentioned that they would take the same decision in the same way if repeated in future . There were no significant difference between graduates and small farmers regarding the existing the decision maker and the decision methods , while there were significant differences between the two groups concerning the decision stability.
