Abstract |
This study aimed mainly to determine respondent farmers adoption Ievel of some organic agriculture techniques, also determine independent variables affecting respondent farmers adoption level of studied organic agriculture techniques, as well as Identify sources of respondent farmers information about these techniques and identify constraints facing respondent farmers regarding its adoption.
A well prepared and pretested questionnaire was used to collect data of this research through personal interviews from a systematic random sample amounted to 147 respondent farmers in Koom Al-Hagar and El Bakatoush villages from Al-Hamoul and Kallen districts respectively, Kafr El-sheikh governorate.
Arithmatic mean, simple correlation coefficient, multiple correlation and regression analysis (step-wise) were used to analyze data statistically, in addition to frequencies and percentages.
The most important findings of this study could be summarized as follows:
I- It was found that 92.5%, 95.9%, 87.7%, 96.6% and 91.8% of the respondent farmers had either low or moderate adoption level concerning use both of compost, biofertilizers, Bio-control by using phytosanitation and insect tops, Bio-Control by using parsites and four studied organic techniques combined respectively.
2- There were four independent variables significantly affected the respondent fanners adoption degrees of four studied organic techniques combined by (27%). They were: awareness degree of agricultural innovations (17%), size of animal holding; (3.9%), Perception degree of some attributes of the studied technique (3.1%), and degree of respondent education (3%)_
3- Agricultural extension agent was the first source of information regarding four studied techniques.
4- It was found that the most important constraints facing respondent fanciers regarding adoption of organic agriculture technique were: lack of extension information and applied demonstrations about preparing and using these techniques (42,18%), high prices of organic agriculture inputs from biofertilizers and bio-pesticides (35.37%), get rich of plant agricultural waste particularly rice straw by set on the fire to make land emptiness quickly (23.81%), absence of most organic agriculture inputs (fertilizers and pesticides) from agricultural societies (20.41%), grounded believe about advantage of using traditional agricultural practices from chemical fertilizers and pesticies (19.05%), and lack of organic agriculture inputs in local markets(19.05%).
