Abstract |
Tractor wheels static and dynamic weight were studied using three tillage implements. Tillage tool system (chisel “one pass” , I), moulboard II and chisel (“two passes” III), each followed by disk harrow, were performed to select the best tillage system based on degree of soil pulverization and compaction parameters. Experimental data have been measured in clay loam and silty clay soils, using a 2-wheel drive, 48.5 kW tractor with the previous tillage systems. Due to tillage operation acting forces on application point of the tractor, rear wheel weight was increased (in both soil types) by an average of 72.2%, 93.3% and 16.6% of its static weight, when tractor pulled mounted chisel and moulboard ploughs and disk harrow, respectively. Tillage mechanical process has a great improving of fine than medium soil texture. Contrasting heavy wheel load and number passes damaged clay loam (medium texture) greater than silty clay (fine soil texture), especially when soil moisture content nears its field capacity. The results of this research showed that soil porosity greatly affected by vertical wheel load and number of wheel passes on soil surface
